We’ve done this before and according to my friend Laura, my husband won. I stated that he just had a lot more change to make = more drastic results. We’re probably fairly equal right now; however, he’s a guy and has naturally muscular genetics and testosterone on his side. He’s also abnormally strong. Like freakishly strong, which prob means more testosterone than most. I have no natural muscle tone, have to work my _ss off for the little muscles I have and have like 0 testosterone. (Yes, women are supposed to have testosterone and I have none.) What I do have is my friends at Healing Histamine by Yasmina Ykelenstam & Shakthi Health and Wellness Center on my side, because it’s all about diet anyway – right? So, give it to me … All ideas. I have 4 weeks starting today. I already workout, but am game for new routines and ideas. ‘Cause I will win. Not sure what I’m winning, but still … I will win.
My nephew decided that he was going to start to 30 push-ups each day because someone commented on his “spaghetti arms.” I told my sister that I would join him because I couldn’t do 30 push-ups in a row in my feet either. They didn’t believe it. But nope, I have my own #EDSSpiral that I’m working out of. So, tonight I did 30 total push-ups – 15 on my feet and 15 on my knees. Sculpt Barre Class has become my new favorite class – or, one of them. I’m a big believer in cross training and also in finding ways to strength train with minimal impact on your joints. Sculpt Studio offer classes that are a twist on Pilates – called The Lagree Method. The Lagree Method uses a machine called the Megaformer. Sculpt Studio now offers a Barre class, in addition to its other Pilates/Lagree Method-inspired classes.
Sculpt Studio focuses on the Lagree Method using the Megaformer machine. However, today I took a regular Pilates class at Sculpt and it was great. I’m still working on regaining my strength from my most recent EDS spiral and Pilates has been a recent type of exercise for me to incorporate in my workout routine. I fell in love with Pilates over a year ago when visiting my friend’s studio on the Eastern Shore. I quickly realized that classic Pilates had a lot to offer me — different from my usual workouts, such as yoga, the Pilates-like workouts on the Megaformer, indoor cycling, and most other mainstream workouts. Consequently, I started incorporating classic Pilates into my routine and noticed incredible differences in many of my weaker areas. In fact, Pilates is the main reason why I have hope and shown progress in helping correct the kyphosis and scoliosis in my back, as well as the winging of my scapulae.
