Ways to do #Just5Minutes of Yoga Per Day – Anywhere, Anytime, Even if You are in Bed

I love yoga in the morning!

Moving, even slowly and gently, helps loosen much of the tightness, aches and some of the pain we may feel when we wake up. While movement of any kind may not initially feel like such a good idea, it’s often the best medicine we can give to our bodies, along with proper sleep, meditation/mindfulness strategies and eating whole foods – meaning nothing boxed, canned, sprayed, saved, or nearly all of the foods found in the center aisles of the grocery store.

Below, I’ve included a few of my favorite yoga apps and videos, and how I find a way to do “just 5  minutes” every day.

I have a subscription to Gaia and one to Yoga International, which has great classes as well. Cody App has excellent series of classes you can buy outright. They even have a social community.

PiYo Workout by Beach Body is also one of my favorite yoga-inspired videos by far. However, my next yoga-like workout that I’m going to try is Buti Yoga.

YouTube has countless good yoga videos for free – various levels and lengths too.  If interested in which yoga videos I’ve liked, you can follow the Strength/Flexibility/Health/EDS YouTube channel and go through the various playlists I’ve put together. The Pocket Yoga App is by far, one of my most favorite ways to easily do yoga – anywhere, anytime, for as long or as short as I feel like, and at whatever intensity I can do that day.

The Yoga Nidra App is also an excellent way to explore meditation without too much struggle.
It’s super relaxing and easier to get into the “zone” – In my personal opinion.

Yoga Nidra research suggests that one hour of Yoga Nidra meditation is equivalent to 4 hours of good sleep – that’s how restorative it can be for your brain, body and the homeostasis of your entire system.

And then sometimes, all I do are a few sun salutations on my own. But something is better than nothing, even if it’s “just 5 minutes.”
